Background
Thank you for shopping at Marple Bookshop! We’re a community bookstore that values our customers highly, and we want to make sure you are absolutely delighted with everything you buy from us.
Customer service – and the finest books – lie at the heart of what we do, so we’re proud to maintain a generous refund and return policy to give you complete peace of mind when you shop at our store.
We work hard to offer the finest books at the best possible prices, but we recognise that sometimes purchases may not be exactly right – especially when you’re gifting!
With that in mind, details of our refund and return policy are below, but you can also speak to one of our team in-store who will always be happy to help.
1. Unsuitable Item
We accept returns of unused items, in their original condition, within 30 days of your in-store purchase. For a refund, you must also provide a receipt (or similar valid proof of purchase, such as a card statement). We will be happy to refund the purchase either in cash, provide an exchange or offer to put the amount on a gift voucher, as you prefer.
2. Damaged or Defective Items
If your order arrives damaged or defective, please contact us at the earliest opportunity. We will always do what we can to help and find the best solution. You can email our team at marplebookshop@outlook.com, call on 0161 427 4921, or pop in-store to speak to one of our team.
3. Returns beyond 30 days
We recognise that there are times when the standard return period might not be practical. For example, at Christmas, we may offer an extended returns period in recognition of the fact that many people start their Christmas shopping long before the big day! If you have a potential return that is outside of our standard policy window, please contact our team to see what we can do. For example, we may be able to offer an exchange for an unsuitable gift. We review these returns on a case-by-case basis and try to do as much as possible to offer the best customer service.
Please note that the returns and information policy above relates to in-store purchases only.
4. Your Statutory Rights
Please note that you have consumer rights that are in place every time you shop in the UK. You can find out more information about these statutory rights at: https://www.gov.uk/consumer-protection-rights
5. Further Information
Our team is here to help with any questions you might have. Please don’t hesitate to contact us at marplebookshop@outlook.com, or please visit us in-store and we will be happy to help.
